Zen Time
Zen Time is the result of a year “off the grid,” much of which
was spent near the ocean, without a clock or schedule. It was a year for deep
inner assessment, healing time for chronic health issues, and an invitation into
open-ended creativity.
Zen Time: time standing still chronicles the creation
of Zen Time, the stones
and bamboo box, the purpose of the labyrinth, and includes stone meditations
and activities for slowing down.
Down Alice’s Rabbit Hole is an excerpt from the journal of the year’s
process and reflections.
(excerpt)
Zen Time was birthed during a year’s time out, during which I kept my body’s
natural rhythm fiercely defended from the rush of the clock. Having felt swept
away by life’s current for too long, I needed to allow my spirit to catch
up.
We’re saddled with a calendar based on linear time. Linear time means growth
is only possible along a straight line where everything increases... Cyclical
time implies that years, seasons, and days return again and again, bringing depth
and quality.
Healing requires slowing down, listening, and integrating our experience. |
